Designer Rugs collaborates with esteemed artists to create commercial quality rugs. One of the most popular pages on the site was ‘latest collections’ which was indexing. The existing landing page was a product grid of overhead rug images, which weren’t doing the amazing rugs justice.

The Brief

I was tasked with creating a landing page that could be maintained by the marketing team moving forward. It needed to give an overall sense of the latests design collections and sell the rugs through imagery and insitus.

The Result

Users can click through to a specific rug or the collection itself and are able to see an insitu of the rug before visiting the product specific page.

Defining the Problem

There are two users to consider in the design, the marketing person who will be implementing the design moving forward, and the client who will be interacting with the site.

Team Needs

Easy to adapt with limited editing necessary. A design that will work with multiple collections.

Client

An overall sense of the collection and how it may look in their space. A page thats engaging and enjoyable to scroll through.

Problems with original experience

It is unclear what else is in the collection, nor does it give any context to who the designer is.

Solution

A modular and responsive design that delivers more value to the user.

By showing the collections through insitu shots and as a group, users get a better sense of the mood each collaboration offers.

Hover over each image for a detail image and rug name to reveal.

Users are able to click through to the product directly, or explore the collection itself in more detail.

Showcasing collections through imagery

The responsive grid adapts to different screen sizes, communicating the product no matter the device.

Creating a template that can be used by anyone.

The modular design is image heavy, meaning it will suit any rug designs and the colour is based off the collection. This allows team members to drag and drop into the design, ensuring it looks consistent and clean.
